Inches and Itty bitty Things

So I decided to not only focus on weight in terms of numbers but to look at inches in key body parts as an indicator of progress along my health journey.  A friend of mine and I are talking about bikini bodies as a goal to look forward to. When I say bikini body I mean rockin a lil ole bitty bikini, bikini body! See ya girl RiRi for an example:
But while I'm in process of getting towards that goal, my midway point is to wear a larger size in Arden B Jeans. So I'm heading off to the gym but my current stats:

Jan 22, 2012

Hips: 50
Smaller Waist: 39 1/2
Larger Waist: 44 1/2

Wow I knew my pants were getting tight but DAAAAAAAAAMN! No wonder! Never fear, when you are at your lowest (in my case heaviest) there is no other way but to go up (or down in inches!)

Toodles World, off to sweat!

Skinny Girl Envy

Ok World, its time I come clean with myself............ I get skinny girl envy when I go shopping!!!!! Like some kinda serious.

The other day I was in the  mall with a few of my line sisters, and for jokes we walked into F21......... and it hit me: Never in my life have I been able to wear anything in this store! Granted some of the items are poorly made and won't last past the season, but the fact that even if I wanted to I couldn't enjoy shopping for more than earrings in the store, pissed me off!!!!

Later on that evening I reflected on how many non department stores in mall, do I frequent. About 2, New York and Co/GAP and even that can can be a struggle. So I simply say all this to say that I've  really got to get my butt in gear when it comes to my healthy living goals! I don't want to feel restricted when it comes to shopping and activities I do. Not just to fit in, but grow past my limits of self assuredness, confidence, size perception, and love.

Speaking your goals into existence:::: The Power of Positivity

'Ello Blogosphere,

Its been quiet some time since I have logged on and made a quick blog. I've been busy with life as usual, but I just finished reading an awesome book Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom which is a story that details how a writer rekindles a relationship with a former professor, who is dying of ALS, and the professor bestows upon the writer many life lessons. My favorite quote was " you cannot learn to live unless you learn to die", resonated with me because we all are in a space of "what is my purpose", "what is my calling", "how can I be a better me".  I believe its hard to figure those things out when we are always wondering if we are offending others, or if others will approve. When we seek positive change in our lives and tell those around us about our goals, it removes the burden of feeling like we are doing it alone. Speaking those goals and personal quests of truths I feel can help us find people/place people in our lives for that journey who can best assist us. So Go Forth in your truth, in your goals, and in your renewed sense of happiness in life's fulfillment and let no one stop you with negativity!!!!
