Sistafriends are a girls best accessory!

I just wanted to simply blog about having good friends in my corner. They inspire me in many ways to reach after my goals rather than sit back. I have friends in various arenas of work professionally, as well as growth spiritually. I have friends who are going back for advanced degrees, certifications for work, or even starting a new career path. They are handling their  issues in stride and I feel empowered by surrounding myself around them. So, to any person that stumbles across my blog remember to think about all the great positive folks in your  life and see how amazed you will be!!!

I keep on FALLing!

Its a lovely 60 degree morning in NC and Fall woke me up this morning. It said "goodmorning, you missed me"? Me: "Um do we have to do this right now? I need to get my wardrobe ready for you"! So in ode to the Fall Here are a few of my I need to holla at list:

I am a fan of blazers, they make you look incredibly well dressed, professional, and transition from work to play very easily with the change of blouse/top. Also they keep the habitually cold natured warm during the transition of temps. Here are a few I like:

Castor Oil Challenge and 8k

I have recently taken out a weave, and I'm going to do some hair TLC before my next install or braids. So Yes, joining the castor oil challenge to keep moisture in my hair.

The goal: Oil my scalp and or hair 3 nights a week with Castor Oil mixed with coconut oil. My goal is to do this for the remainder of 2011, in hopes to gain about 2 inches of length, and if nothing less, length retention. Protective styles are going to help me in my goal listed below.


Also my other goal is to train for an 8k to attempt this Thanksgiving. I've mapped out the route, and am working on a workout schedule. I am just getting tired of this extra weight, and I think its hindering my happiness and growth, so its time to shed some dead weight! Wish me luck!

Walking..... its your friend

I am proud to say that today i had a mini walk with a friend. Granted it wasn't a long walk by any means but it just felt good to get out and about and move around. You know its like the commercial i saw that says "a body in motion stays in motion" and thats going to be my motto for the week. Keep staying in motion.

Successfully Ending bad habits



How do you go about making changes that are detrimental to you? Somethings can be a simple as using "I can't" phrases, or eating too much icecream. What steps do you take to get on the right path. I know for one, its allowing yourself to feel pain, to feel uncomfortable, and do things you aren't used to.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do things I'm not used to..............

Testing my Personal Strength


Strength: Is it in me! 


I am working on being committed to being a stronger me in all ways.  My goal for this week is to tackle time management and working out. I got to thinking of all of the other things that I commit to, whether it be my friends, family, work, sorority, etc I am putting myself last on that list. Its time to re-evaluate how I see myself in relation to those things. What I think will help most in finding that personal strength will be mini challenges to help reach the goal I am ultimately trying to reach. This week I think I will focus on time management and working out more in the same facet: AM WORKOUTS!!!! Yes people you heard me correct, AM Workouts. NO I am not a morning person, NO I do not love to miss sleep, but I need to do it all in the name of self love. 
Mission: Workout Tues-Friday in the mornings. Saturday Afternoon.

Weight Loss Thoughts

I think that I am starting this blog to hold myself accountable for weight loss. I currently need to lose at least 60 pounds. On a random search to find a weight loss video for motivation I stumbled across this great youtuber! BeautifulBrownBabyDol . She is such a blessing and is speaking towards a lot of things that I needed to hear, especially the goal of more physical activity. Preach!

New to the blogosphere

Hello World,

I am new to blogging and think its kinda a cool way to ramble about my favorite things in more than the alotted space that Twitter allows. A friend of mine told me that she was starting a blog and that I should follow and I was like ya know what, why not create a blog?! I'm still wrapping my mind around what the subject matter should primarily focus on, hence why its called PasticheBella! Pastiche is a french term used primarily when a work is a "hodge podge" of many things or cobbled  together. Thats exactly what I am, I'm a lil hippie/diva/music/activist/nerd/neo-soul/buppie southern lady. Got it? Good!!! Lets see how this adventure turns out!
