I will not be a victim to my situation. I will overcome. I will be happy, healthy, strong and a force to be reckoned with.
I will overcome.........

Vacation in a Jar
Today is one of those days where it's not too busy at work, so it allows my mind to ramble and thing about places I rather be. I keep a jar at my desk "Vacation in a Jar" that is my lil' peace of serenity when the monotony of life hits me and I get stir crazy. I just open this jar and listen to the shell and take a deep breathe and stillness of 1 minute, and I get grounded.
Everyone needs something like that........... that is until they can go on a vacation/get away! Oh and I promise to blog more. Its a good outlet.
I found this quote fitting:
"Every time I stand before a beautiful beach, its waves seem to whisper to me: If you choose the simple things and find joy in nature’s simple treasures, life and living need not be so hard".~Psyche Roxas-Mendoza

Becoming Jillian Michaels' Bi*ch: Extreme Shed and Shred!
Hey Bloggies!
As I enjoy this lazy sunday (my favorites by the way), I am just checking in to post some quick health goals and update.
Since I have vowed to be reclaim my health this year, I can say I am down 2 pounds since last week, which I'm happy about. Now that I have a good grasp at healthy eating and staying consistent with it, I'd like to kick it up a notch: BAM! Incorporating more exercise. I am going to start the extreme shed and Shred by Jillian Michaels! You all pray my strength because that lady is no joke.
My plan of attack for this week is to do: Zumba class 1x a week, Treadmill/outdoors 2xs a week, Jillian 3x a week!
Gotta abolish this belly fat!!!
Happy Sunday

Welcome 2013, I've been waiting for you!
Hey Blogosphere!
I have been MIA but, I've been rather busy with work and life, so my apologies.
I hope that everyone has had a great start to the new year! Lets give a round of applause to 2013. I don't resolutions per se, but I have goals that I want to accomplish sometime this year. I will not beat myself up if I don't achieve all of these, but I am striving to start and work on all of these goals.
My goals for the year are:
*Take more sewing classes, and learn how to read patterns
* Actually go to the book club meetings regularly (I'm apart of a group but never go, bad)
*Expand my social circle
* Go to church more/read more spiritual literature/ spend more time spiritually connecting with nature and God.
*Complete my 1st 5k, mudd run, turkey trot, and potentially half marathon.
*VOLUNTEER more (hopefully get 30-70 hours completed)
* Eliminate extraneous debt and make smarter financial decisions
*Get a summertime fine/Bikini body
* Travel more
*Use all of my vacation time at work
* Be a licensed to use a gun and have good accuracy
* Sing more ( its a hobby of mine that truly makes me happy)
*Be fearless!
So my question to you all is , what are you goals/resolutions for the year?

Confessions of a Weave-a-holic: Going through withdrawls!
So in these last two weeks or so, I have been styling my hair various ways and ya know what, its a substitute for leaving my hair alone! The problem is these styles are so simplistic that I get bored with it and change it! Sew in Weaves and Microbraids are about the only thing that keeps me out of my hair! And I MISS MY WEAVE! LOL. As silly as that sounds, I do.
Currently rocking Mini Cornrows but methinks am gonna whip out the Remy/Malaysian/14inch soon!
So I ask, what is your fav hairstyle? Do you keep it natural, weaved up? Relaxed? Colored! What hairstyle is your hair Go-to style that makes you, You? I'm all ears
